Special Academic Programs or Awards:
Recently, I was honored with a scholarship from the Scotia Kiwanis chapter for $1,000.
For grade 12, I was honored with a music letter for participating in voice and orchestra through Scotia-Glenville High School.
New Visions:Journalism and Media Studies: This program is designed for students looking to challenge themselves academically in their senior year. In this program, we get out into the community and learn to be Student Photo Journalists through the Times Union. I receive 9 college credits through Suny Albany and Hudson Valley Community College.
Introduction to College Math: I receive 3 college credits for this class through Suny SCCC.
Summer 2008 New York State Mock Trial Summer Institute: Because of my efforts and progress in the mock trial program, I was accepted as one of the 45 students from all over New York to attend the Mock Trial Institute at Darrow College Preparatory school. I spent a week there preparing a case with a team of strangers. At the end of the week, our teams acted out the trial to the best of our ability. I learned some amazing trial techniques and I made a lot of friends with whom I still keep in touch with.
NYSSMA: Vocal solo to the song, "I'm in love with a wonderful guy" by Rogers and Hammerstein. Score of 25-excellent.
